IoBM is organizing its fourth International Conference on Experiential Learning (ICEL-2019), with “Classroom learning and industry complexities: Creating Impact through engagement” as its theme, on November 16 & 17 at its Main Campus, Karachi. The conference will showcase the experiences and research of various individuals and enterprises in their efforts to make the paradigm shift from the conventional instruction techniques towards learning by doing, which is Experiential Learning. This conference will be a gathering of Experiential Learning Professionals and Experts to create a cross cultural platform sharing indigenous Case Studies, Research, Practices and Insights through panel discussions, presentations and workshops.

The 3rd International Conference on Experiential Learning (ICEL 2018) will be held at Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi, October 20 - 21, 2018.

The theme of the 3rd International conference on Experiential Learning is "Connecting Classroom Learning with Industry Practices". The conference supports the 21st century educational philosophy of connecting active learning and participatory experiences with reflection. Promoting a multidisciplinary pedagogical approach, Experiential Learning educators purposefully engage learners in direct experiences outside the traditional classroom, thereby fostering interest and enabling them to acquire skills, knowledge and experience for lifelong learning. 2nd International Conference on Experiential Learning

The second International Conference on Experiential Learning (ICEL 2017) was a mega conference spread over 2 days with over 70+ speakers/panelists including five foreign speakers, 107 research paper presenters, 55+ Experiential Learning/Capstone Projects' poster presentations, and an audience of principals, representatives of universities, CEOs and schools. There were 4 parallel tracks each consisting of 12 sessions in addition to the combined inaugural session and closing session.

Speakers included five foreign speakers Dr Javier Poncela (Spain), Dr Bayani U. Almacen (Philippines), Dr Rajah A/I Rasiah (Malaysia) and Bernd Sprankel (Germany), keynote speaker Dr Abdul Bari Khan CEO Indus Hospital, Mr Javed Memon, Director HEC and the conference Chief Guest Mr Basheer Janmohammad Chancellor IoBM,  panelists, workshop leaders, session chairs, paper presenters, corporate leaders and national speakers from representing Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), University of Management and Technology (UMT), Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Bahauddin Zakariya University.

Sponsors of the conference were HEC and Westbury Group of Companies. The conference was a joint conference of CBM, CES and CESD.  Dr Muhammad Abid Ali was the Chief Conference Organizer, Cdr Shahid Mirza was the Conference Director and Dr Amber Raza was the Deputy Director Conference. There were five track directors; Dr Asima Zahid, Health Management track, Ms. Seema Ansari, Engineering Track, Dr Abid in collaboration with ERDC, School Education, Dr Nasreen Hussain/Ms Sarwat Nauman Higher Education track, Mr Ekhlaque Ahmed/ Dr Amber Raza Business Management Track, Mr Nawaz Ahmad Business Research track, Mr Ejaz Wasay/Dr Erum Hafeez Media Track. Dr Adnan Bashir was responsible for the reception of the guests. Dr Samra Javaid and her team Midhat, Faiza, Asim Yousufi of EMEC provided support for all material for the conference. Mr Parvez Jamil and his team were responsible for coverage of the conference and promotion in national media.

Four Academic partners included: Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Educational Resource Development Centre (ERDC) and Association of Management Development Institutions in Pakistan (AMDIP).

Experiential learning is learning by doing and includes PBL; Project/Problem Based Learning and activity based learning and is often referred to as learning through action, experience, discovery and/or exploration.

ICEL-2016 invites papers and talk proposals from adopters of experiential learning and PBL methodologies in schools, colleges and universities, educationists, policy makers, consultants, representatives of examination boards and systems, teachers, researchers, educational resource developers and decision makers of universities and school systems. ICEL is a platform for academic discussions on challenges, sharing of experiences, and methods for solving issues related to Experiential Learning or Learning by Doing.
